The exhibition can be visited in the Municipal Archives, bibliographic and documentary features testimonials that reflect life in the city between 1826 and 1925 through his characters, events and institutions
The Villamartin Commander Hall, sponsored by the Directorate General of Institutional Relations of the Ministry of Defense and the collaboration of the Municipal Archives of Cartagena and the Department of Culture, has organized the exhibition 50 years of military life in the garrison of Cartagena.
Events, people and institutions (1876-125), which tries to present some testimony bibliographic and documentary charts, life in the garrison, supplemented with data from other national, as well as some contributions from individuals in Cartagena during the given period, drawn mainly from the funds of that file.
The journey through these testimonies reveal events in that space of time that military agencies, units of the garrison and native citizens it achieved notoriety for his courage, his distinction or scholarship.
Varied brush strokes are thin but very emotional inscribed in the history of Spain in Cartagena which deserved to be cited.
For the history of a city a fifty-year period could be like a drop in an ocean, but in Cartagena in the time between 1876 and 1925 events unfold in such a lavish gathering that invites us in a memory exercise reflective, to collect some of the most significant issues relating to military life to show to its citizens.
This historical period, which begins with the Bourbon Restoration and concludes with the early years of the government of General Primo de Rivera, includes the last moments of a tumultuous century in which Cartagena is the pulse recover lost after the tragic events cantonal and the beginning of a century transformer.
This exhibition is a sample of institutions, military events and personalities who excelled in the life of the city during those years, leaving their mark on the urban landscape and in the field of culture.
