The director general of the Ministry of Defense Infrastructure, Mónica Melle, and the president of the Foundation for the Advancement ISEN Education and Culture, Juan Jimenez Roset, have signed a Defence Agreement for 50 years gives the use of building that now houses the Naval Museum in Cartagena.
This Foundation, a non-profit, use it for the implementation of a Department of Social Innovation, which will organize and implement programs of college education, affiliated to the University of Murcia, vocational training, occupational training for unemployed workers and for business training through a technological platform for e-learning.
As consideration, the Foundation will carry out the works cited needed to run the museum project of the new Naval Museum Thematic submarines from the Navy in Cartagena, to be located on the ground floor of the old barracks Seamanship Instruction, recently rehabilitated.
The Defense Ministry gave this building to the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, which has taught there in 2009-2010 Social Science degrees.
With this operation, the Ministry of Defense once again demonstrated its willingness to cooperate and support to promote education and culture.
