The Municipal Institute of Social Services City of Cartagena has launched the project of the Intercultural Center with workshops for young people aged between 11 and 16 years living in the Old Town and the neighborhood surrounding Dolores and .
During the 2011-2012 academic year, the programming will target topics of special interest to work for 80 young people from this age through leisure activities and major axis being interculturality, to be places where children of different nationalities live and cultures.
Like previous years, will launch a workshop to support the study, aimed at young people from cultural centers have a space to do their homework with the support and professional advice.
As explained by the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, the objectives to be achieved by these centers are to promote intercultural harmony among young people from different backgrounds, to promote values ​​based on tolerance and solidarity, which are opposed to any form of racism and xenophobia and enabling approach to the cultural realities present in our town, while offering alternatives to the responsible use of leisure time.
