The Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, through the Instituto de Fomento de la Region de Murcia (Info), is organizing the fifth edition of the Conference of Food Technology Transfer 'Murcia Brookerage Food Event', held until tomorrow at the Old Barracks Seamanship Training of Cartagena.
Info director, Juan Hernandez, this biennial event opened today an international, carried out since 2003 and is considered the largest European forum in this field.
Over two days, the companies hold bilateral meetings to reach agreement on technological cooperation.
There are a total of 350 students enrolled in supply and demand profiles to participate in such meetings with representatives from 15 countries and a forecast of 600 interviews.
Hernandez said during the ceremony that "it is essential to apply innovation and technology exchange in a sector of the agri-food weight in the region."
He noted that "if there is an area in which we are truly leading the food processing technology," adding that "we have an extraordinary journey in this field."
Info director also stressed that "our participation in international networks of transfer is a bet that is providing very good results for Murcian companies."
Among the activities parallel to these meetings, today is the V International Symposium on Food Technology, in which various experts discuss the challenges and the measures to adopt in order to optimize food processing activity at regional, national and European level.
Also, tomorrow, the day of closing Day will be held for Prospective Technological Studies.
It will discuss the latest trends in food technology, new requirements, ongoing research, nanotechnology and health, among other topics.
The participants are representatives of companies, universities, technology centers and research institutes that offer or require advanced and innovative technologies.
Leading this initiative info network 'Enterprise Europe Network' of the European Union, whose main objective is to help businesses access international markets and promote innovation.
The organization also assist the National Technology Center and Canning Technology Center AINIA Valencia.
