A delegation of mayors and institutional heads from Ecuador this morning visited Cartagena for models implemented in the city tour, in particular the Cartagena Port of Cultures consortium.
Councillor for Tourism, Palazón Carolina, and the manager of the Port of Cultures, Agustina Martinez, received the delegation that wants to better understand the functioning of Cartagena tourist consortium to launch a similar model in the Ecuadorian province of Chimborazo.
The delegation is composed of mayors and technicians from six municipalities that make up the 'Corporation for the development of the territories of the river basins and Chimbo Chanchán' (CODECH).
With this visit have studied the key points that underpin the development of Cartagena as a tourism city, and the commonalities that could be done in the province to achieve economic development in that area.
As explained CODECH president, Eduardo Moreno, the main ideas that have collected highlights the participation and initiatives and projects of the Port of Cultures.
In addition to Cartagena, says Moreno, for a week have gone elsewhere in the region as Sierra Espuña and Ricote Valley, where they can imitate the models based on nature tourism, since its province is an area populated by indigenous and rich in natural resources.
According to Eduardo Moreno, leave pleased to have known the action plans, initiatives and strategies and experience of the city of Cartagena which has many years working hard to become a real tourist town.
