The Regional Committee Unit, composed of social service technicians in the municipalities of Cartagena, Mazarron and Mar Menor, was held this morning at the regular meeting to assess the implementation of Law Unit in the Region of Murcia.
About 28,000 people benefit from the benefits agency in the region, of which over 2,000 belong to the municipality of Cartagena.
They currently receive financial aid without delay, as stated by the Director of the Office of the Unit in the Region of Murcia, Michelangelo Miralles.
Miralles explained that benefits are paid monthly in arrears, so that there has been no delay in the granting of aid, except for an incident in July and in a timely manner. The cuts will not affect these benefits , has said Miralles, and delay complaints concern only dependents.
With this type of policy should not be playing and that aid dependency is a right of citizens by law
At the meeting in the building of the former Graduate School, also participated Social Care Councillor of the City of Cartagena, Antonio Calderon and fifty social service technicians who have updated knowledge of new regulations come into force.
Among these new regulations is the basic income that will affect people who have no recourse and that is in the process of elaboration and adoption by the Community, as announced by the Regional Director of the Office of the Unit.
The technical meeting also assessed how it develops the administrative procedure since the stakeholders requested service when aid is granted.
In the Region of Murcia this waiting time is 3 to 6 months, says Michelangelo Miralles, and seventh places in Spain that takes less time dealing with applications, being the eighth largest recipient community, according to recent IMSERSO data.
Currently 12,000 people are on waiting list to benefit from aid dependency in the Region of Murcia.
