Two creations of students from the Polytechnic of Cartagena IES participating this year in the Region of Murcia Solar Race 2011 held at the Cartagena Circuit Speed ​​of 13 to 15 October.
The experimental vehicles will be measured forces with other Spanish and European projects are an electric car by the name of 'Asdrubal' and other works by solar photovoltaic and they have christened 'Troncomovil'.
The Youth Council, through the Ideas program, has accompanied and supported at all times to the project, both economically and management and dissemination.
The IES Politécnico already participated in last year's Solar Race to the design and construction of a solar electric vehicle that was able to remain in 4th position and make a mark of 691 km per liter of fuel.
Thus, the IES Politécnico presented in the competition as a pioneer in research and development of clean energy vehicles, with a long history of fairs, exhibitions and national and international competitions.
Also involved with the design and manufacture of electric vehicles at the Shell Eco Marathon in Germany: This vehicle is in eleventh place and made a mark of 1,600 km per liter of fuel, representing more than 1,000 km walk with 1 Euro.
The next challenge is to make the IES design and manufacture of electric vehicles or electric urban mixed type to be ready to circulate.
Ahead, Hasdrubal and Troncomóvil vehicles will be less consumed a total of 25 projects efficient and powered by renewable energy, created from different institutes and universities in five European countries: Hungary, Belgium, Italy and France, and six provinces Spanish: Guipúzcoa, Malaga, Valencia, Castellón, Alicante and Murcia.
To learn more about these creations, on Friday 14 has scheduled a tour for students of schools and colleges where teams will explain to the students of the technology and performance of their vehicles.
