More than 50 pieces made ​​by hand by eight artisans of the region are exposed today in the exhibition 'Art Nouveau and Deco' in the Craft Centre of Cartagena, which this morning officially opened with the assistance of the Director General Consumer, Commerce and Handicrafts, M ª Dolores Alarcón Martínez, accompanied by the Councillor of Commerce of the City of Cartagena, Mariano García Asensio, the Councillor for Tourism of the City of Cartagena, Carolina Palazón Gomez, and the director of the Museum of Glass in Santa Lucia, Manuel Gil.
The exhibition welcomes valuable samples, prepared with great sacrifice and they are always unique and special creation of a craftsman, as expressed by the Director of Consumer Affairs, which has also highlighted the long tradition of glass craftsmanship in the municipality of Cartagena and the value of these parts should be hidden but never be known, said Alarcon.
Art Nouveau was established in Cartagena in the early twentieth century due to commercial and industrial boom that allowed many architects promote the construction of houses with rich ornamental modernist facades visible in both, as in interior decoration and in everyday objects .
The exhibited works are inspired by ornaments of nature and great artists of the era, such as Gustav Klimt, and are among other windows and type lamps Tiffany's, jewelry and jewelry in enamel, paintings, sculptures and murals, pottery, glassware, carved and scarves hand painted silk.
In addition, the products displayed can be purchased at prices for all budgets.

Prices range from 15 euros in costume jewelry, 300 euros of the cut pieces of glass or stained glass $ 500.
All these products can be seen in the Exhibition Hall and in the windows of the Craft Centre until 30 November.
