On Tuesday October 4 at 12.00 hours will be held the official opening of the exhibition Art Nouveau in Cartagena Craft Centre, run by the Director of Consumer Affairs, Commerce and Handicrafts, M ª Dolores Martínez Alarcón, accompanied by the Trade Councillor of the City of Cartagena, Mariano García Asensio and Tourism Councillor of the City of Cartagena, Palazón Carolina Gomez.
The exhibition pays tribute to the artistic style 'Art Nouveau and Deco', with more than 50 pieces handmade by artisans in the region of Murcia.
This style was introduced in Cartagena in the early twentieth century due to commercial and industrial boom that allowed many architects promote the construction of houses with rich ornamental modernist facades visible in both, as in interior decoration and everyday objects.
The exhibited works are inspired by ornaments of nature and great artists of the era, such as Gustav Klimt, and are among other windows and type lamps Tiffany's, jewelry and jewelry in enamel, paintings, sculptures and murals, pottery, glassware, carved and Panu elos hand-painted silk.
These products will be located in the Exhibit Hall and in the windows of the Craft Centre until November 30.
The products listed can be purchased at prices ranging from 15 'in costume jewelry, 300' of the cut pieces of glass or 500 'of the windows.
