Everything is practically ready for the Monday, October 3, the Museum of Glass in Saint Lucia, from the hand of the Craft Association Glaziers, open its doors and begin your journey, not only as a showroom but also as a training center.
With respect to the first aspect, the Museum on the first floor houses an exhibition of more than 200 pieces in 15 showcases, from the former glass factory of Saint Lucia.
In addition, the furnace vessel, located on the ground floor, visitors can see a glass blowing artisans, as well as equipment, tools and machines traditionally used by the glassmakers.
Visiting hours are Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 13.30 hours.
As for the training side, the first course that will teach Glaziers Crafts Association of St. Lucia on Glass Blowing begin on October 24 and runs until December 1, funded by the Regional Employment Service and Training ( SEF), through the Agency of Local Development and Employment.
This free course, which seeks to recover the tradition of handmade glass in the city, is aimed at unemployed and for the same entries can be made ​​from 3 to 7 October in the ADLE.
Built by the City Council within the projects included in Plan E and subsequently transferred to the Crafts Association of St. Lucia Glaziers, Museum of Glass has 600 square meters over two floors, devoting the first floor showroom and samples and the ground floor shop craftsmen, ovens, and blow torches and a press to manufacture old pieces Almansa, recently acquired.
