Aimed at secondary students municipality organizes distance education courses on construction and landscaping in order to achieve a reduction in the number of students who complete their studies without a qualification
The Occupational Classroom for the prevention and control of absenteeism and dropout students in 15 years, opened on Friday during 2011/2012, in which courses will be taught the specialties of buildings and other structures and landscaping.
During the course opening ceremony last Friday, which was present the Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto, laid out the objectives of this educational modality, the first and foremost to promote the continuity of academic training students with school adjustment difficulties.
The dependencies that are taught Occupational Classroom courses are located on the ground floor of the old school, Carmen Conde, where students will come from different secondary schools of the municipality, administratively dependent IES Mediterranean, which is responsible for the provision of space and materials for the development of the specialties.
Occupational Classroom project is the result of an agreement between the city of Cartagena and the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, in efforts to ensure continuity in the educational system and complete training of students to reduce rates of students who complete school without qualifications.
Thus, it serves as educational and organizational compensate the students who are disadvantaged, which has undergone a process of schooling late or very irregular and has difficulties in hiring and promotion on the stage.
Note that the end of the academic year, ten students requested to continue their training in different Initial Vocational Training Program, which shows that this measure is meeting its educational goals.
