The mayor this morning visited the workshops of the College Employment Special Education and Early Lopez Residence for the elderly Virgen del Mar de San Anton, where students from performing their practical ALDE
The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, visited this morning the ADA Employment Workshops (Care Unit in the Classroom), funded by the Agency of Local Development and Employment (ALDE) of the City of Cartagena, the Regional Employment Service and Training Autonomous Community and the European Social Fund, which are forming unemployed forty women facing the labor market.
Barreiro, accompanied by the Social Care council, Antonio Calderon, and Employment, Diego Ortega, the director of the ADLE, Francisco Valenzuela, visited two of the three centers that develop practice: the College of Special Education Early Lopez, and Senior Residence Virgen del Mar in San Anton.
Barreiro has started the course in the College of Special Education Early Lopez, where she visited the facility in which a group of women working more than 120 dependent children. The practices are a complement to a year of training, and serve a dual purpose , explained the mayor, on the one hand allowed to leave the workforce better prepared and on the other, are of great help in school and add staff to give professional assistance to people with limitations.
The mayor also visited the workshop of the Senior Residence Virgen del Mar in San Anton, where he works another group of women aged 25 to 54 years serving seniors.
The ADA Employment Workshop (Care Unit in the Classroom) was launched on December 16, 2010 and end on December 15, 2011.
For the ALDE realization has signed liaison with the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, with the Messengers of Peace Association and Astus Association (Guardianship of the Person with Disability).
The forty participants have a training contract by the Agency of Local Development and Employment, in the care of dependent people, particularly in the Vocational Training Skills Social Autonomy and after training of 1,920 hours of teaching, including theoretical and labor practice, and other subjects such as risk prevention, information technology, gender equality, environmental awareness, job seeking and entrepreneurship.
The ALDE, in addition to promoting this project, hire the student workers and managers and teaching of it and organize and oversee its development, supports the employability of participants through the presentation of the project to companies and of career guidance services and enterprise to facilitate the recruitment and promotion of self-employment initiatives.
After the visit, the mayor has responded to questions from journalists on the state of Cartagena-based National University of Distance Education (UNED) and, as a deputy on the approval of the Tax Equity.
