The presidential advisor, Manuel Campos, as director of Infomur Plan to combat forest fires in the region of Murcia, announced today that the severity of forest fire declared last Friday in Atamaria (Cartagena) drops from level 2 to level 1, which means no more resources are needed for the self-extinction.
The decision was taken during the meeting that the director has remained at the forward command post, located at the fire scene, the technicians of the emergency services and fire suppression.
The meeting was also attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, regional secretary of the Presidential, Ana Vanesa Torrente, the CEO of Public Safety and Emergency Luis Gestoso, Councilman Safety City of La Union, Antonio Liarte and responsible for the fire department, the 061 and the Military Emergency Unit.
The Minister was informed of the details of firefighting conducted during the last hours and who are participating in a total of 66 people with 24 vehicles and a helicopter land, including forest brigades, fire, military and service members Civil Protection Municipal and regional governments.
In this sense, Campos said the effort and hopes that "the fire can be declared extinct sooner, which will surely happen in the next days, thanks to the excellent work being done by those who have intervened."
