For several days the victim was attacked in order to return an amount of money claimed by his captors
National Police, assigned to the police station in Cartagena, released on 10th August to a 26-year-old Spanish national who was being held against their will in a home in the hamlet of Los Nietos Cartagena.
The research that has allowed the release originated after receiving over the past days five and six of August a series of anonymous phone calls alerting to the possible commission of the kidnapping of a young man, whose identity was not provided, and the possible concealment of same place without determining near the city of Cartagena.
Given the seriousness of the facts and despite the contradictory and incomplete information provided, researchers at Local Police Brigade Cartagena Judicial proceeded to establish a mechanism to track the location of the victim and the possible perpetrators of events under investigation, for which activated the usual research protocols in such events.
The data from the first investigations allow agents to focus their investigation on a group of residents of Cartagena, on which established a surveillance operation and control.
This operation gave off on 10th August, when they managed to locate the address held in the hamlet of Grandchildren, where he proceeded to the release of same and the arrest of four people with him were already who were suspected of having committed the crimes of abduction and injury.
After the liberation of the young, it was found that it showed different lesions on the face, torso and extremities, allegedly inflicted by his captors, so it was moved to a hospital to receive timely care.
Research has allowed to know that the illegal arrest would have occurred about ten days before his release and that during this time, the victim had been hidden for several days in a home in the city of Alicante, whose residents have also been arrested for participation in the events under investigation.
The motivation of the facts could be related to the retained ownership possible for a given amount of money that could be from his captors, who had already seized and beaten in order to recover the amount claimed.
The six arrested, five men and one woman, aged between 23 and 46, are Spanish.
Four of them were brought before the magistrate on duty Guard Cartagena, while the remaining two went to the disposal of the judicial authority in Rome, that city being the place of his detention.
