Cartagena attend this year as a municipality invited to the International Week of Huerta and the Sea of Los Alcazares which is celebrating its fortieth anniversary, 12 to August 20, 2011. Nine holidays where culture, cuisine and history coexist in this coastal town awaiting the arrival of more than 6,000 visitors, as explained by the Director of the International Week of Huerta and Mar, Juan García Serrano.
Details of the 40 th edition of the International Week were presented this morning at a press conference at the Palace Hall which was attended by the Councillor of Tourism of the City of Cartagena, Palazón Carolina, Mayor of Los Alcazares, Anastasio Gomez Bastida , Councillor of Tourism of the City of Los Alcazares, Olmos Maite Fuentes and Director of the International Week of Huerta and Mar, Juan García Serrano.
New this year is recovered 'traditional route by car', which will kick off International Week as the best way of expressing the connection between the garden and the sea.
Involved 25 cars and more than 300 people in this first event on Friday August 5.
38 FOLK GROUPS PARTICIPANTS, AND FLAMENCO OPERETTA

Cartagena, as guest city will have its special day on Sunday 14 August, when the folk group act of Cartagena, La Palma.
On Saturday, a parade will be held 13 special Carthaginians and Romans, and day 20 will be drawn one and stances from a night at the Hotel Alfonso XIII in Cartagena, noted the Councillor.
In addition, a stand of the city will allow visitors to soak in the culture of our town, has assured the Councillor of Tourism of the City of Cartagena, Palazón Carolina.
