Swimmers in the Region have been among the big winners in the Championship of Spain Children's Swimming and Adapted by self-selection, held in Cartagena this weekend.
About 500 swimmers participated in school sports event on Thursday 7 to Sunday July 10.
More than 1,600 people managed a full house at the facilities of the Olympic pool Polideportivo Santa Ana, prepared for the public stands, canopies and tents for sun protection, and different organization stands for each of the eighteen participating communities more autonomous city of Melilla.
The selection of Murcia won eight medals, six golds and two bronzes in adapted and two championship record.
On an individual swimmer's performance highlights José Nieto Cartagonova Swimming Club who won the championship record in 1,500 freestyle male, and three golds in this category at 200 and 400 freestyle.
Three more golds achieved Enrique Carrasco (CH Horadada), who won 100 backstroke, also achieving the championship record in this mode, in addition to the medals in 200 backstroke and 200 individual medley.
Category adapted highlights the performance of Beatriz Lorca (CN Cartagonova-Cartagena), which won two bronzes in 50 meter backstroke and 50 freestyle in adapted categories.
SIX IN THE CLASSIFICATION "N GENERAL
Thus, the region was placed sixth in the standings, making the room or place in the men's overall standings, led by Catalonia (1 °), Valencia (2 °, and Andalusia (3 °). In the women Andalucía (1 °) has led the overall standings, followed by Madrid (2 °) and Catalonia (3 °), while the Murcia was placed in tenth place.
The event was attended by a broad representation of the organizers during the three-day competition that lasted until the close on Sunday July 10.
