The Special Accounts Committee met this morning under the chairmanship of the municipal council of the Socialist group, Julio Nieto, to rule the general account of the City and its autonomous bodies for the year 2010.
As explained by the Councillor for Hacienda Fatima Suanzes, the balance of last year's accounts show a negative cash surplus of 8.7 billion, forcing the City Council to develop an economic and financial recovery plan which will take effect in the year 2012.
Suanzes has highlighted the success of cost saving measures implemented in 2010 by the Team, who managed to save about 9.5 million have softened considerably and the final figure, leaving it in those 8.7 million euros the general account, although the deficit the City is in 12.3 million euros, an amount that was mitigated by the surplus of its autonomous bodies and boards.
These savings measures for 2010 include reducing the salaries of municipal employees and a freeze on public job, which represented a saving of some two million and 1.8 million euros to be obtained from current expenditure savings and reduction of capital transfers to municipal agencies and boards in surplus.
Councillor thanked the municipal parties the spirit of collaboration that has found them to participate in the development of economic and financial restructuring plan, which should be ready within three months for discussion in full and will be reflected in the 2012 municipal budgets.
The opinion of the commission has received favorable votes and abstentions popular group of representatives of social groups, the United Left-Greens and Mixed.
