06.jul.2011.-More than 400 international experts analyzed from this afternoon in the auditorium how to improve teaching and learning methods in classrooms on the first International Congress of Educational Innovation Campus of the Mare Nostrum.
The latest technologies applied to teaching and research within the European Higher Education Area will occupy a central role in this event, which ends Friday.
Experts present at two workshops proposals for teachers to use mobile devices via WiFi to interact with students, teachers moviemaking, the use of electronic portfolios, research tool in real and virtual worlds, social networks like learning tool or videopostcast.
The conference will present more than 200 communities and hundreds of posters and a book of over 500 pages which includes summaries of the experts.
The Vice President for Academic Planning at the UPCT and president of the Scientific Committee, Josefina García León, notes that one of the priorities of the Congress is to get the reflection and exchange of experiences in key areas such as teaching methodologies, multimedia systems, coordination , collaborative learning and the implementation of teaching in other languages.
The experts come from different countries, including Mexico, United Kingdom, Ghana and Portugal.
Experts aim to reflect on teaching innovation to improve research and teaching within the European Higher Education Area and other areas related to teaching it.
The inauguration will take place this afternoon at 18.00 pm in the auditorium of the School of Industrial in the Old Naval Hospital Campus de la Muralla del Mar and will be attended by the Minister of University and Research Company, José Ballesta as well as the rectors of the UPCT and UMU, and Jose Antonio Felix Cobacho Faura.
