The City of Cartagena, through the Municipal Coastal Institute has deployed a comprehensive human device and machine in perfect condition to maintain the municipality's beaches this summer.
A total of 95 people and 40 vehicles make up the device and started on 15 June and will last until September 30 in perfect condition to keep all the beaches of Cartagena.
The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, explained that this effort is both the maintenance of the beaches as the guarantee of basic services like cleaning, gardening and water quality, efforts already distinguish us nationally with surveys of blue flags and Q quality.
For next year this dispositivio cleaning and maintenance could start a few days, on 9 June, coinciding with the Day of the Region of Murcia, as indicated by the mayor.
Reinforcements are provided by the Instituto Municipal del Litoral and the concessionaire cleaning, Lhicarsa.
Besides the 95 people work: 9 cleaning machines, 8 tractors, sweepers 7, 3 trucks, 11 trucks and 2 trailers.
Service coverage includes the entire coast of Cartagena from La Manga Azohía to and from Urrutias to Playa Honda, including the beaches of Cala Cortina and Portus.
Along with cleaning and maintenance of beaches performing other tasks such as installation of 28 chemical toilets scattered around the coastal beaches, as well as cleaning footbaths, placement of bridges, removal of weeds, maintenance of the network traffic light, painted road and maintenance of traffic lights.
In addition, maintenance of beaches include the regeneration of the same sandy beaches providing affected by storms, particularly in Cala del Pino, Cavanna beach, Playa de la Gola, Beach Club Nautico La Isleta, Playa Honda, Camping Caravaning, Islas Menores and Playa Levante Lost Ship.

The device for cleaning and maintenance is supplemented with all supplement the safety and rescue device made up of 23 posts.
