During the special campaign of surveillance and control of motorcycles, which has been carried out by local police in collaboration with the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) between 20 and 26 June, have controlled a total of 497 motorcycles and 17 complaints were issued, representing 3.4 percent of the total.
The bulk of the complaints was about not having passed the ITV, with 10 complaints, and lack of compulsory insurance, with 4 complaints.
In addition, there have been 2 other reports of not using a helmet and a complaint for not having papers.
According to the DGT, three out of four motorcyclists died from head injuries, as the risk of brain damage is multiplied by three if the driver or passenger of the motorcycle is not wearing a helmet while using Hull, the probability of escape unharmed increases 20 percent.
Remember that not wearing a helmet is a fine of 200 euros, the withdrawal of the card and the immobilization of the bike until the driver comes equipped with a helmet.
In this sense, the group of motorcyclists has proved to be ever more aware of road safety, which has reduced the number of accidents, especially in town, thanks to the acquisition of habits and customs more responsible, and helmet use , controlling the speed or overtaking illegally.
