Twenty-three people of different nationalities have participated in the first workshop for Active Citizenship, organized from the Immigrant Program of the Department of Social Services.
The goal, offer these people the basics of Spanish public services, essential knowledge for integration in our country.
This has been explained Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon, this morning during the presentation of diplomas to the first participants of the workshop, which was also attended by the director of the Municipal Institute of Social Services, Antonio Mule, the program coordinator Immigrants, Lucia Hernandez, and the workshop instructors.
For a month, with a total of 12 teaching hours, have learned the Spanish operation of the sociopolitical system (2 hours), the city and living in neighborhoods (2 hours), the City of Cartagena (3 hours), the health system, education and resources for women (2 hour) employment services (2 hours); immigration services (1 hour).
The classes were taught in small groups and in the morning and evening to suit your needs.
In total, 14 women and 9 men have participated in the course, from Morocco, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Poland. The classes have also paid special attention to learning Spanish.
This training will be repeated because the goal is to create a space for basic information dissemination and facilitate and ensure the new neighbors a knowledge society model residing in the area, all participants have been derived from the various programs à develop the area of ​​Social Care. but also have joined the people acting on their own.
