The first weekend of summer has filled the beaches of our coastline bathers fleeing high temperatures, and has been used to fund the services of Civil Protection and Rescue attended a total of 800 incidents recorded on beaches.
Fifteen swimmers had to be rescued to be affected by the current or fatigue.
Among them, a 69 year old man syndrome dive was swimming near the beach at Puerto Bello, La Manga, on Saturday 25. A local police officer, who at that time was outside service, and a nurse who was also in the same bathing place, managed to revive him practicing first aid before being attended to by emergency services.
The current also hit three ships were rescued adrift, or by different faults.
The carelessness and violation of the directions of lifeguards, also occupy many of the incidents.
Rescuers had to take a total of 460 preventive actions, warning bathers bathing prohibition by flag red or yellow caution flag, as well as consultations and assistance for the disabled.
In addition, there were 311 first aid and cures for jellyfish stings, fish, spiders and other insects and there were 10 ambulance transfers.
Local police also recorded several incidents of violation of the Ordinance on pets, public nuisance, and benefits assistance.
Therefore, in order to begin this summer vacation, from the local police citizens are advised to obey the directions of both the rescuers and the agents.
It is advisable to observe the color of the warning flag that flies over the beaches, and in case of prohibition sanction those who do not respect the rules and established areas for swimming.
The operation has staff of Rescue and Civil Protection, as well as local police officers in all the beaches, that will inform and help the citizens everything they need during the summer.
