More than fifty officers, firefighters and civil protection volunteers ensure security along the fires and checked before burning.

Local Police and Fire Cartagena wider deployment planned for the evening of Thursday 23 June for the traditional bonfires of San Juan, to ensure maximum safety of both citizens and visitors can enjoy peace of mind one of the most magical nights of the year.
Since the local police and the Department of Public Safety of the City of Cartagena has developed a device in which more than fifty troops, including police officers, firefighters and civil protection volunteers, who ensure the normal development of the bonfires and planned activities.
The special operation includes about thirty police officers to be located in different strategic points of the city, where they control the burning of bonfires and security in areas of festivities.
They will join about twenty regular troops fire service, and six firefighters extraordinary for the device that night.
Firefighters inspect the fires in the hours prior to burning to ensure maximum security, monitoring its size and location, according to the instructions issued by Civil Protection.
