Eighty youth will participate in the closure of courses and workshops of the Intercultural Center that performs the Municipal Social Services City of Cartagena.
The closing event, which will be attended by the Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon, will be Wednesday June 22 at 19.00 hours on the premises of the College Football Santa Ana
The event will be a real year-end party, where young men play two football games and enjoy other sports.
The evening will end with a series of performances by the young participants in the workshops, which will also receive trophies and diplomas two separate recognition by the values ​​conveyed by the Intercultural Center, the coexistence of all cultures, solidarity and integration of immigrants.
The Intercultural Center have conducted their activities since last October and ending with the school year on June 22.
The centers are located at two sites in Cartagena, Dolores and Casco Antiguo.
PROMOTION "OF COEXISTENCE BETWEEN CULTURES
Intercultural Centers arise as spaces for young people aged between 11 and 16 years, residents in neighborhoods where they are located, in order to promote intercultural harmony between children from different countries of origin, promoting values ​​based on the coexistence and solidarity, enabling approach to the different cultural realities.
All activities that have been made in their workshops during the course have been designed to integrate and within the framework of multiculturalism, as a film club, recycling, intercultural dynamics, musical workshops, social skills, healthy habits workshop, lectures, outings or celebrations of significant days.
The objectives achieved during this course are to promote intercultural harmony among young people from diverse backgrounds, promoting values ​​based on coexistence and solidarity to oppose any form of racism and xenophobia, allowing the approach to different cultural realities present in our society, offering alternatives for the responsible use of leisure time, creating opportunities for dialogue among the / young people of families attending the center.
The Centers were organized into two distinct spaces each workshop as leisure for young people: To develop it created two groups of two days a week each to work pedagogically based on age, small group (11 to 14 years): Monday and Wednesday from 17:30 to 19:00 h.y largest group (14 to 16 years): Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:30 to 7:00 p.m..
Highlight the study support Workshop: This workshop was conducted at the end of the workshop entertainment, from 19.00 to 20:00 h, in order to support youth in their educational process as a booster in those school assignments that are most complicated.
These centers could attend any boy / to take between 11 and 16 years residing in the old town of Cartagena or in or around Los Dolores, respectively, being located in the C / San Juan de Nepomuceno No 14 - Dolores and Cartagena C / Gisbert Graduate School Building (next to the Red Cross)
