Be launched on Wednesday 1 June at the headquarters of the Association with the presence of the Minister for Social Policy and Social Care Councillor duties, and the testimony of parents who have already received this assistance
The Association of People with Down syndrome and Shire Cartagena (Cartagena ASID), is launching the first service created to directly assist families who have a membership to a person with intellectual disabilities and which also is open to all families in this situation, whether or not to ASID Cartagena.
The Family Support Service (FAS) of Cartagena ASID is operated after eleven years working with specific programs to support families and, now, thanks to the support of Iberdrola Foundation, gets transformed into a specific service, with structure protocolising sufficient professional and procedures and documents, and networking with other community services, as has been explained from the association.
The new service will be launched on Wednesday 1 June at 19.00 am in the offices of the Housing Partnership in Santa Ana (Genoa Avenue, 7), in a ceremony that will be attended by the Minister of Social Policy, Immigrant women in office, Joaquin Bascuñana, Councillor for Social Care office, Antonio Calderón and María del Mar Hernández, Director of Development Cooperation and Iberdrola Foundation has provided funding for professional project managers.
During the presentation will be an exhibition of the service by their responsible and will have the testimony of several families who have come to it. Speakers parents with children 2 to 26 years with Down syndrome.
Cartagena ASID Association, a member of FEAPS Murcia is a non-profit organization that began as such in 1993.
Services include Early Intervention, Occupational Center, Day Care Center, Family Support and Guidance, and School Learning support in coordination with the Centers for integration where the children and youth as well as training and employment, leisure and free time.
Also up, along with 26 others, the Federation of Societies for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities and Cerebral Palsy (FEAPS Murcia).
