On Friday, May 27, officials and employees of the City of Cartagena celebrate the feast of its patron saint, Santa Rita, moved from day 22 to this date to coincide with municipal elections.
On this occasion will be closed to the public administrative departments of the City Council.
During these days, officials have been holding a series of cultural leisure activities such as painting and exposure models in the Centro Cultural Ramón Alonso Luzzy, a hiking route through the Azohía, a poetry reading and the usual football games, tennis, paddle tennis, bowling and dominoes.
On Friday night there will be a dinner get-together of municipal employees at La Cartuja, and Monday, May 30, the acting mayor, Pilar Barreiro, deliver the plaques of appreciation for services rendered at 23 retirees in the last years and the widows of the two municipal employees killed in the same period.
Seven of the retirees have over 40 years of service, the oldest is Francisco Hernandez Aparicio, who has completed 45 years and retired last August as commander from the fire station.
The delivery of the plates will be held at 13 am in the ceremonial hall of the Town Hall.
