Everything is ready in the municipality of Cartagena for the celebration on Sunday May 22, the ninth democratic municipal elections.
To them attend 14 lists, while still more candidates have been presented since 1979.

The nominations are the Popular Party Spanish Socialist Workers Party, Citizens Movement of Cartagena, the United Left-Greens in the Region of Murcia, Cartagena Socialists for, Unión Progreso y Democracia, Los Verdes Murcia Region - Ecolo Green Party Company Employment, Citizens Initiative Carthaginense, party for Regeneration of Democracy in Spain, Partido Independiente Dos Mares, National Democracy, and White Citizens Party in Cartagena.
The electoral roll is made ​​up of 149,791 people (72,882 men and 76,909 women) who may exercise their right to vote in sections 188 and 245 polling stations, installed in hundreds of buildings, mostly schools.
With regard to the last municipal elections held in 2007 represents an increase of 2,050 voters, so they have been taken to enable more than eight polling stations in those elections.
For public institutions: the largest number of voters is to Cartagena Center with 37,473 voters, followed by San Antonio Abad, to 16,950, with 10,975 Barrio Peral and fawns, Polígono de Santa Ana, 8741.
The lower, Los Nietos, with 714.
By age, nearly half of voters, 45 percent, is between 30 and 50 years old.
7,106 young people voting for the first time in a municipal election in Cartagena, after reaching his majority.
In the census there are 24 voters who are over 100 years old: 19 women and five men.
1,393 are foreigners who have requested to vote as residents of member countries of the European Union or others that there is a reciprocity agreement.
These include 605 of the United Kingdom and 216 in Ecuador.
The average rate of participation of the eight elections held since 1979 is 59.34 percent.
Increased participation in municipal elections was in 1995, with 66.36% and lowest in 1991, with 52.77%.
The highest turnout in the city of Cartagena in an election was in 1982 in General, in which the vote 82.70% of the electorate.
STATISTICS OPEN SUNDAY
The Bureau of Statistics of the City of Cartagena is located in the municipal building of the Union Avenue Round open to the public during office hours 8:00 to 20:00 for handling requests of the voters vote when they find that not on the lists of their respective tables or appear with errors.
City officials pick up these requests, as standard form, and send by fax to the Provincial Office of Statistics, which will resolve and provide the relevant certificate to allow affected citizens to exercise their right to vote.

More than 300 members of the local police will be on duty Cartagena on Sunday, May 22, to work together with National Police and Civil Guard in the security of polling stations, and attend regular services Sunday.
