Allocations of between 10 and 14 firemen from the City of Cartagena are collaborating in the task of shoring up buildings and debris after the earthquake that struck last Wednesday at the city of Lorca.
The troops depart daily from the Security Park and head to Cartagena Fire Lorca Park where they receive orders from the work done in coordination with firefighters Lorca and regional consortium of fire-fighting, in shifts of 16 hours.
As explained by sources of Cartagena Fire Station, the tasks of the early days, focusing on the location and assistance to victims, have been superseded by the reorganization of facades, elimination of a hazard of falling debris on public roads and shoring structures.
