The Municipal Corporation of Cartagena with officials and citizens, has focused on the threshold of the Town Hall to observe a minute of silence and voice, as noted by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, affection, solidarity and support with the people of Lorca, in these terrible times in which families try to return to normal, taking their wounded and burying their dead.
Barreiro has explained that he keeps in touch with the mayor, Francisco Jodar, which has offered all available local resources.
The mayor pointed out the participation of firemen, members of civil protection, municipal technicians, equipment troubleshooting and leak from the municipal water and the canine unit, in addition to the support given to victims with the distribution of blankets and food to the citizens who had to spend the night outdoors.
Barreiro has announced that it is awaiting its transfer to internal Cartagena Over Private San Diego, which will be housed at the Residencia Virgen del Mar and Santa Teresa Hospitality.
It also has made available to the control unit of the disaster the municipal machinery for the removal of debris when necessary.
On the other hand, it should be noted that hospitals in Cartagena, and Santa Lucia Rosell, welcomed last night about 80 patients transferred from the Hospital Rafael Méndez de Lorca, which was severely affected by the earthquake.
