The Maritime Authority of Cartagena, under the Ministry of Development through the Directorate General of Merchant Marine, has mobilized a Salvage vessel "Clara Campoamor" to tow the ship "Clare" to the port of Cartagena tailings basin - where they must remain docked.

The "Clare", which was out of fuel or food, is towed by the coastguard vessel "Clara Campoamor.

The estimated time of arrival is after 21:00.

At 18:05 yesterday, the captain of the ship "Clare", 125 meters long, Kiribati flag, from Oran in ballast, with fifteen crew members on board (a Syrian, six Georgians, six Turks and two Ukrainians) requested berthing for lack of food on board and agotársele fuel.

The Rescue Coordination Centre Maritime Cartagena immediately mobilized Sea Rescue boat "Salvamar Mimosa, which, together with the Civil Guard vessel" Rio Guadalentín, sent them food and water provided by the Red Cross to alleviate the immediate needs of the crew.

In addition, the Maritime Rescue aircraft "Sasemar 101" conducted an aerial survey of the ship.

The Maritime Authority of Cartagena told that in order to access their application for entry, would follow the legal procedures for these circumstances.

To avoid any possible accident by the expected lack of fuel, also moved Salvage vessel "Clara Campoamor" so that, if necessary, could take over to keep the "Clare" out of danger.

At 10:45 today, due to drift of the ship "Clare", the "Clara Campoamor" operations began to tow safely.

At noon today, the Maritime Rescue vessel, through his dinghy, has provided more food.

Although the company owning the vessel has failed so far none of the legal requirements, the Maritime Administration, for humanitarian reasons and maritime safety, has mobilized the "Clara Campoamor" to tow the "Clare" to the Port of Cartagena, where you will be docked until the situation is resolved.

On the other hand, has offered the possibility of medical evacuation if any of the crew, as required, but the captain of "Clare" has not considered necessary, since the problems of two of the crew are not serious.

In any case, once they reach port, they provide health care.
