Lithuania's ambassador in Spain, Audra Plepyte, along with the consul and president of the Chamber of Commerce Hispanolituana in Spain, Andrés Fornes, this morning visited the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, during a visit to the Palace Hall to strengthen institutional links trade between both countries.
Both Lithuanian delegates are in town for business Forum Spain - Lithuania, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena this morning starting at 12.30 hours at the headquarters of the House on the promenade Alfonso XII.
The president of the organization, Miguel Martin z, also accompanied them during this meeting institutional and business with the mayor.
For Martinez, this visit has strengthened the friendship ties that strengthen business and cultural cooperation between both countries
Lithuania's ambassador in Spain, Audra Plepyte has expressed his desire that this meeting visit will serve to enhance trade relations between Lithuania and Spain.
During the visit spoke of the cultural similarities between the two countries, mainly from the business relations of Lithuania with Cartagena, a city that attracts the interest of the Lithuanians, among other things, the port and the university, as explained by the ambassador.
Just closed agreements focus on the Erasmus student exchange between the University and Lithuanian universities, as well as agreements with the Port Authority to formalize relations between the port of Cartagena and the port of Klaipeda, one of the main entrances of the Baltic Sea and with connections to Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Russia.
The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, Miguel Martinez, has said that Lithuania is a strategic place for the interests of traders and businessmen of the city and located in the geographical center of the European Union and very close to important markets such as Scandinavian, German or Russian.
Martinez also announced that these relationships are entrenched in an institutional and business visits will be held soon to Lithuania.
