The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, received this morning the visit of the new National Police Commissioner, Alfonso Navarro Lopez, during a formal meeting at the Palace Hall to mark the recent appointment of it in office.
After meeting with the mayor, Navarro stressed the absolute Barreiro available to assist in a coordinated effort in the fight for the safety and benefit of the citizen.
An obligation we all have is absolute coordination to be more efficient and streamline our forces, said the new National Police Commissioner who took office last April 25 in place of José María García who had nine years the job.
Responding to questions from reporters, Navarro has made a positive assessment of Cartagena security at both facilities, which have a new police station, as staffing levels, which has strengthened in recent years.
Navarro has said it will continue working in the retail and fight against drug trafficking in the city, following a line of continuity with his predecessor, a concern also falls within the strategic line of the National Police in Spain.
