The mayor and the chief executives of the funeral home this morning signed the agreement on the Estavesa bear the costs currently out of the public budget and amounting to an annual average of 32,000 euros
The City Council and Estavesa Funeral this morning signed a cooperation agreement to cover the funeral of the municipality that those without financial resources.
The firm has been chaired by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, accompanied by the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon and Estavesa CEOs, Juan Manzano and Mariano Cánovas.
With this agreement, the Funeral Estavesa would bear the funeral expenses of those who demand the service, prior assessment of their real situation of need by the Municipal Institute of Social Services.
Thus, the agreement is a relief for the administration in times of difficulty, as the budget allocated to cover t he cost of burial of poor people, amounts to an average annual expenditure of 32,000 euros, as indicated by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro.
From the Municipal Institute of Social Services has earmarked some 130,000 euros in this term for the concept.
As explained by Antonio Calderon, people who apply for services are often without resources to families already help from Social Services, but also bystanders that nobody takes over after his death.
TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE TO CARTAGENA
Barreiro thanked personally and on behalf of the city of Cartagena, the generosity of the Funeral Estavesa carrying out this provision of financial support for a period of 5 years.
To Estavesa, the rationale is simply to return the allowances and benefits to a city where we have been working twenty-five years has indicated the CEO, Juan Manzano.
About 30,000 people die every year in Cartagena, according to data provided by the funeral home, whose activity never ceases, despite the crisis.
