The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, has been in charge of opening this morning Voices for Josefina literary readings within the program of activities to celebrate World Book Day, developed by the Department of Culture, through the Municipal Library Network .
In a ceremony in San Miguel street, many relatives and friends recalled the work of the writer based in Cartagena Mancha, Josefina Soria, who died one year ago today.
In particular, we have recited several pieces of its publication dedicated to the city: "Campo de Cartagena. Legend and tradition", which contains a series of ordinances preserved in the Municipal Archives and turned into stories.
The mayor, who has clothed at all times to Josefina's daughter, Marisa López Soria, wanted to highlight the work of the writer during his stay in Cartagena addressed a gathering of encouraging reading, and published several books of poetry, stories , poems and stories.
For its part, Marisa López Soria has welcomed the presence of all the friends and fans of literature that have wanted to share the memory of his mother on a date as indicated.
Readings of Josephine, who also recited a number of councilors of the Corporation present at the event as the Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero, Social Care, Antonio Calderon, Finance and José Cabezas, continue throughout the morning until 13, about 30 hours, within the planned events for World Book Day.
THE HISTORY OF THE CARTAGENA INSPIRES VERSE
In total, the work of Josefina includes ten stories based on real events that took place in Cartagena and field, in fact was inspired by a documentary repertoire published by the City under the title: "Texts for the History of Cartagena."
The author, based on these texts and using a prose not without beauty and simplicity, is about the characters, their habits and ultimately, the essence of Cartagena.
Awards in poetry and narrative as the Silver Piggy Bank, Sara Navarro, City of Cartagena in the categories of poetry and fiction, City of Salamanca, among others, reflect the brilliant career of our late neighbor.
After the event, Pilar Barreiro, also responded to questions from reporters about the possibility of borrowing for the Region of Murcia and other current political issues and the presentation of the Popular Party candidate, and baseline program for the next legislative election.
