The Councillor for Education of the City of Cartagena, Joseph Marotta, this morning attended the celebration of the Mus-E Intercentros where students and teachers work throughout the morning in theater workshops, music and plastic in the Stella Maris College, a center which highlighted the Councillor, and has received recognition as Silver Slate, and is an example of integration.
A fun, small place this annual day of living for seven years to host the center is a goal in itself, since, as explained by director of Stella Maris College, Sebastian Soria, is implementing and live the values ​​taught throughout the course as equality, tolerance, solidarity and respect for the environment.
GROWING IN GRACE
MUS-E Programme is a tool for integration of all children of all cultures through activities in schools that struggle every day to improve educational quality and because small grow with civic values ​​and solidarity, explained the program coordinator, Elena Ladrón de Guevara.
Under the background atmosphere of the Thousand and One Nights, students of all ages, from age three to sixteen, and from different backgrounds and cultures, have fun together in workshops held throughout the day: Music, dance , theater, a tasting area, a breakfast and to round off, there will be a representation MUS-E and a farewell dance.
The purpose of the MUS-E Programme is to promote the arts, especially music, singing, theater, dance and visual arts in schools as a tool that encourages social integration and cultural education prevents violence , racism and promoting tolerance and the encounter between different cultures, with respect to diversity.
Eight schools in the Region of Murcia are part of the MUS-E Programme: In addition to Stella Maris, involving the IES Sierra Minera de La Unión, Murcia Barriomar CP, CP San Cristobal de Lorca, CP Ardieta of Roland Hernandez, EEC Primitiva Lopez of Carthage, and new this year, school Ramón y Cajal Salzillo Gilad and Murcia.
SWISS ORIGIN AND SOLIDARITY PROJECTS
The MUS-E first developed in Switzerland in 1994.
Since then it has grown to be implemented in 443 schools in fifteen countries in Europe, currently working on the 892 program and participating artists in it, at European level, over 45,000 children.
The work is done through workshops in theater, dance, music and visual arts, which are even taught by working artists and teaching experience, in which it is intended that the participating children to channel their creativity, strengthen their self-esteem and improve your vision the school environment.
MUS-E activities are taught in schools, within school hours, and continue during the school year.
This Foundation conducts further charitable projects such as Project "Teach Africa" ​​with which he intends to build schools in disadvantaged areas of Senegal.
