On Saturday, April 2, was held at the plaza of John XXII a day
Awareness on Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders, coinciding with World Day of the disease.
The activity was organized by the associations Astrada (Association of Developmental Disabilities), AFAPADE (Association of Relatives and Friends of Persons with Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities) and ASPERMUR (Asperger's Association of the Region of Murcia).
Throughout the morning it was reported and drew attention of the citizens of Cartagena on the various autism spectrum disorders and the needs of people with autism and their families.
The activities were inaugurated by the Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto, representing the City of Cartagena who worked on the activities of children.
Also involved Guerrrero Soledad, president of Astrada, M ª Angeles Salgado, president of Aspermur, and Jose Pascual Cervantes, president of AFAPADE.
Later, a mother from Astrada, Virginia Ochoa, gave his testimony and his view of everyday life with an autistic child.
And finally, they read the Bill of Rights of Persons with Autism
For children there make-up workshops for children, balloon twisting, and three bouncy castles.
Then he staged a play dedicated to the public especially children vine.
For parents and friends offered a dance show and a great raffle whose proceeds going to the associations for social purposes.
Also, one of the establishments catering associates offered snacks and drinks at reasonable prices to contribute to the enjoyment of all participants.
