The IU-Greens candidate for mayor of Cartagena, Jaime Cayetano Molto, today denounced the reduction of the subsidy granted by the council to finance the movement of Saharan children to Cartagena in July and August in the program "Holidays in peace."
In his view, "the PP is running a budget for 2011, but allegedly extended substantially altered, affecting the most sensitive political solidarity and social policy."
Molto Jaime explained that the association of support to the Saharawi people, which is a member, "has been forced to rely on charitable bingo and other mechanisms to increase revenue to offset the cut in the City of Cartagena."
He insisted that hundreds of families who take or have availed themselves of Saharawi children, a fact further reinforced by the sisterhood at the time entered into by the city of Cartagena.
"It seems incredible that the City of Cartagena squander almost € 300,000 on scaffolding denied ghosts and 10,000 euros for the Saharawi people," he concluded.
