More than 700 students of ESO (Obligatory Secondary Education) in the region will visit the Agricultural and Food Experimental Station Thomas Ferro on the occasion of the 'Routes agrifood teachers. "
This activity was organized to publicize the farm and raise interest in agricultural engineering among precollege, starts tomorrow, Friday, with the arrival of students from Caravaca de la Cruz, Roland and school Hispania, in Cartagena.
Along the route through the farm, students learn about hydroponic cultivation, ie without soil and photosynthetic pigments in plant organs.
They may also see how to perform post-harvest processing and various freshly harvested vegetable products.
Finally, secondary students will receive information on environmental management of discharges, notes the director of the Villa, Bernardo Martín.
The itineraries will be held for five days for two months.
The final, scheduled for May 27 is expected to attend primary school pupils.
The visits will take place in the morning.
