The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, the Councillor for Culture, Maria del Rosario Montero, the director of business area of La Caixa in Cartagena, Álvaro Michelangelo, and Lluís Reverter, secretary general of the Caixa Foundation, presented the Friday, March 25, exposure Let's talk about drugs, framed within the Social Work program that the Caixa dedicated to the prevention of drug use.
The event will take place at 12:30 hours in the marquee on the forecourt of the Heroes of Cavite and Santiago de Cuba, at the port of Cartagena, where you can visit the exhibition until 23 April.
The exhibition, presented in an interactive way, aims to raise awareness and prevent young people to drugs, providing information resources, guidance and training to families, the education community, health professionals and youth.
According to the National Survey on Drug Use in Secondary School Students, 2008 (ESTUDES), the average age of onset of psychoactive substance use has been declining gradually.
About 3 in every 4 students aged between 14 and 18 have tried alcohol, 15% smoke daily snuff and 5% have used cocaine on more than one occasion.
The program's drug Let the Caixa Foundation was awarded on 8 November with the Reina Sofía drugs in the category of Social Work, as a prevention project based on the effects of drugs on the brain, health and behavior of individuals.
The interactive exhibition Let's talk about drugs, which are divided into nine areas, invites reflection around a number of basic concepts about drugs, warning of the dangers of such use and provides all necessary information to make decisions for health.
