The Security Center City has 14,000 square meters with common infrastructure for local police officers, firefighters and Civil Defence Volunteers
The Minister of Justice and Public Safety, Manuel Campos, along with the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, opened today in the Security Park Cartagena a new building for the Brigades of Public Safety Local Police of Cartagena, which is expanding infrastructure security and emergencies.
The Minister of Justice and Public Safety indicated that the effective incorporation of this special unit of public safety, "is to enhance prevention, investigation and the presence on the streets of the city, without detrimental in providing a fast and efficient service. "
Campos noted that "the growth experienced in recent years forced the city to extend the cordon of the village infrastructure dedicated to security and emergencies, to respond in the best way possible to the needs of citizens", and recalled that through the Regional Public Safety Plan, it has invested more than five million since 2006 to improve the material and human resources in the city.
The construction of this infrastructure has involved a total investment of 970,000 euros, of which the regional government has provided 600,000 euros through its budget to improve the local police units and material resources.
The new building of Cartagena Security Park has a total area of ​​1,587 square feet on four floors which housed the 52 officers of the Brigade of Public Safety and Civil Protection volunteers Hall and facilities Public Safety School of the consistory of Cartagena.
The lower ground floor of the building has more than 580 square meters to concentrate workshops, technical areas and garage.
The ground floor, with more than 520 square meters, houses the reception area, offices, classrooms, offices and training of troops, while the first floor area is used for administrative, operations control, service areas and changing rooms.
Also, the jacket features a technical area reserved for communications and information and a tower 20 meters high in which are located via radio communications systems.
The building also appends a parking area square meters.
The building is equipped with systems for optical fiber communication, allowing you to have permanent links with the Emergency Coordination Centre in the Region of Murcia and the network of municipal traffic control, that is, said the Minister of Justice and Public Safety, "a better coordination with emergency services and security."
With this new building, Cartagena has about 14,000 square feet on three buildings concentrated in the Security Park, which also incorporates the local police officers and firefighters.
Extend coverage to the entire city
With the aim to extend security coverage to the entire town, the building 'The Castillito' is currently under construction to bring it as the basis of the local police headquarters in the Los Dolores, to meet the needs of residents the west of the Campo de Cartagena.
Thus, it deployed troops to the local police to the different areas and districts of the city that now has you covered with divisions and Pozo Estrecho 'El Algar'.
