The mayor has visited this morning the Park of Olives which has been converted into a public recreation area thanks to the efforts of the City and the work of rehabilitation of young Rascasa Association
The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, accompanied by Council of Social Service, Antonio Calderon, District, María Dolores García Nieto, this morning visited the Parque del Barrio Los Olivos Los Mateos, an area that has been reclaimed as a park public use and enjoyment of residents.
The creation of this park dates back to 2003, through a collaborative project of social and community of the City, Rascasa Association and neighborhood residents, who managed to convert an area of debris in a place to play and romp. The partic ¬ pó own mayor then with the symbolic planting of the olive tree which gives its name to the park, located between a public school kindergarten and Hannibal.
During the visit, the mayor has been able to use that gives the children's activities area, as they have done this morning that the school's students Hannibal.
The mayor also met young Rascasa Association who have worked in the work of rehabilitation of the park and visited the facilities of the Association of Los Mateos working on programs and projects to achieve the inclusion of youth at risk of exclusion social.
