The mayor has visited this morning the completed building to be transferred to the association of glassmakers to host workshops and training courses and an exhibition of antiques and original works of the nineteenth century
The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, and Councilman Decentralization, Nicholas Angel Bernal, this morning visited the building and completion of the Museum of Glass in Santa Lucia, a facility that will host the centennial history of the craft of glassmaking, especially linked to tradition neighborhood.

Glaziers Association of Santa Lucia, and Francisco Manuel Riquelme García Romero, accompanied the mayor thanked them their work and efforts to keep alive this activity.
The building will be transferred shortly to the Glaziers' Association is responsible for its implementation and management, in order to recover the craft traditions of the neighborhood by conducting training courses and exhibitions.
A center for training and exposure to teaching the craft of glass, which is a classic of this district, the mayor reported.
The building of about 600 square meters over two floors, has space for showrooms and workshops.

Pilar Barreiro also wanted to highlight not only the handmade quality of craft pieces that houses the museum, but the architectural quality of the building located on Monroe Street.
APPEAL TO FIND AN OPENING DIAGN TRADITION N CENTENNIAL
The Museum of Glass in St. Lucia will also work as a tourist resort and will host, through murals, the history of glass and a display of antique pieces recovered from the factory of Saint Lucia, one of the most important economic engines in the history of Cartagena in the second half of the nineteenth century.
The exhibition also will enlighten anyone with an interest in knowing the process of glass making, and discover the operation of machinery or torches.
About 20 artisans are part of an Association of Glaziers this traditional craft practiced throughout the Region, making different varieties of glass making and carving, etching and glass blowing, and seek self-financing from the sale of parts.
