The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, accompanied by Council of Social Service, Antonio Calderon, District, María Dolores García Nieto, will visit on Thursday 17 March at 13.00 hours, the Park of the Los Olivos del Barrio Mateos, has been salvaged for use enjoyment of residents.
The creation of this park dates back to 2003, through a collaborative project of social and community of the City and neighborhood residents, who managed to convert an area of debris in a place to play and romp.
Mayor's own partic ¬ pó then with the symbolic planting of the olive tree which gives its name to the park.
With the passing of time, the park suffered a decline, which has now returned to take over the City Council with the collaboration of the association Racas.
The result can be seen on Thursday, during the visit.
