The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, together with the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, began operation today in the R + D + I developed by the regional government to improve public transport information , benefiting nearly 7 million passengers a year in Cartagena.
The ceremony was also attended by the managing director of the Public Transport Authority, Jose Guillen, and Vice President of the Territorial Council ONCE in the Region of Murcia, José Ignacio Garrido.
Stops next-generation services including 'Time: Bus', 'SMS: Bus' and 'Bidi: Bus', some information systems that increase the reliability of service and reduce waiting times as possible to know when exact arrival of the next vehicle in real time, via mobile phone or voice systems installed at the stops.
In particular, the new SMS devices: Bus and Bidi: Bus are installed in a total of 364 stops from the city of Cartagena, which are already operating in over 2,370 stops in the region and annually serve more than 28.7 million passengers.
In addition, the Public Transport Authority has set up the service Time: Bus stops busiest passenger port city.
Joins Cartagena to Murcia and Molina de Segura, who already had this service.

Thus, using the stop button or through a command 'Ciberpass' specified for the blind approved by the ONCE, citizens can learn through a voice announced the arrival time of each of the lines.
In addition, users also receive all the information in audio format on your mobile phone through the implementation of a voice synthesizer, guaranteeing the right to collective mobility to visually impaired or blind.
Service 'warning'
The SMS system: Bus permits, via SMS, to know the exact arrival time of the next vehicle without having to go to the stop.
It is a system that allows service also activate a 'warning' to know in advance the arrival of the bus at any stop, and avoid delays, through the satellite positioning technology of the regional public transport fleet, a pioneering project in Spain.
Thus, the user receives a message from anywhere in the confirmation SMS within seconds, and another with the advance indications pointed to the bus is coming to your stop, so you can move up and get there comfortably, without to be previously expecting.
Another service is already available to travelers is the application Bidi: Bus that, through imaging with mobile offers hours of passage of buses in real time, the line number and the arrival vehicles adapted for disabled guests.
The Region of Murcia is the first autonomous community in using technology 'QR' to serve the public in public transport.
