Five hundred bobbin lace from other parts of the municipality and the region gathered Sunday at the brand new indoor sports hall of La Palma.
Celebrated the fourteenth meeting, organized annually by the Association of Santa Florentina lace makers, in collaboration with the Department of Women of the City of Cartagena.
These meetings aim to continue to support the revival of this tradition, considered a work is not exclusively female, which encourages creativity and interpersonal relationships.
La Palma permanently hosts an exhibition of work roll, through a museum a few months ago opened new headquarters, which you can see the roots of this tradition.
During the day the mayor was present, Pilar Barreiro, accompanied by the Councillor for Culture and Women, Rosario Montero.
The meeting is part of the events organized by the Department of Women and the University to mark around March 8 the United Nations Day for Women's Rights and International Peace.
