Carnival 2011 in Cartagena starts this Saturday 26 February with the intention of providing citizens with anti-crisis celebrations and delight young and old festive activities for twelve days of colorful, fun and entertainment.
As usual, the Carnival celebrations are preceded by the lighting of the lighting will be Friday 25 February to coincide with the normal ignition point of the streetlights in the city.
The Carnival lighting schedule will be until 12 midnight on weekdays and weekends will stay on until 2 am.

The festivities begin their program on Saturday 26 February with the election of the queen and her ladies child.
This action is in the Central Hall of Guimbarda Wsell Sports at 17.00 pm and entry is free.
