Local police have released the information about the campaign for the proper use of seat belts and approved child restraints held earlier this month around the town of Cartagena.
The officers checked a total of 1742 vehicles, reporting 29 cases in which drivers or passengers did not use seat belts.
Of these 29 cases reported, 14 were drivers who were not wearing the restraint and 15 were passengers.
The campaign, which took place between 3 and 13 February, aims to promote the enforcement of safety belt use and other restraint systems, as well as raise public awareness about the importance of its use to avoid injury accident.
Local police routinely performs this type of controls that informs citizens and other passengers on the obligation to wear a seat belt correctly in both urban and interurban road.
