The municipal technical committee meeting this morning, the Region has welcomed the implementation of the law in Cartagena, where some 2,500 people benefit from financial support and telecare services, residential and day care centers
A technical committee of regional municipal Social Services met this morning at the headquarters of the Department of Social Services to assess the development of the Law Unit and its application in the region and more specifically in the town of Cartagena.
At the meeting in the building of the graduates of the street Gisbert, technicians have attended regional elderly and disabled programs, Social Care Councillor of the City of Cartagena, Antonio Calderon, and the director of the office of the Unit for Region Michelangelo Miralles.
Miranda explained that some 2,500 people currently benefit from aid dependency law in our town, of which 400 enjoy telecare service, 300 are treated in different strengths, and 250 occupy the Day Centres
Miralles has highlighted the efforts made by the City of Cartagena and has been recognized as one of the best is applying the law, while further work to continue providing resources and services to Cartagena and meet these people in such need.
One of the main issues discussed at the meeting was the launch of new residential places for dependents.
Miranda has said that currently there are sufficient places to meet demand that is in the region.
However it will continue to create spaces and new homes come on stream as the Marist Brothers in Cartagena or residence over Cubas Source Murciano maintained by the Social Action Institute (IMAS) that will return the income of residents after the work of adaptation, Miralles explained.
This event is one of the regular meetings at the technical level, maintains the Autonomous Region with the municipalities in the region to update the regulations that are continually passing and procedures for its implementation.
One example is the recent adoption of regional regulations on the granting of 25% of aid to dependents who are in day care centers, a move that ensures Miralles, so people will not remain dependent at home and move to be better served in the Day Centres
