The City of Cartagena has executed this morning a ruling by the Superior Court of Justice of the Autonomous Region to order the demolition of a wall 800 meters long, built illegally in the surroundings of the Rambla de Benipila.
The above construction invaded an area of public and private lands four owners.
The citizen who raised the wall without a license a few years ago ignored municipal communications then ordering its demolition and municipal appealed the decision before the Administrative Court of Cartagena which upheld the City Council.
Subsequently filed an appeal before the Supreme Court, which was also dismissed.
The City has complied with the provisions of the Supreme Court ruling in 2008 ordering the demolition of the illegal work, after the other affected property owners carry more than three years at City Hall demanding compliance and the offender is not now agreed to meet dictated by the courts.
The demolition had to be carried out in the presence of troops from the local police have urged a group of people opposed to it, for them to leave work at the machines, resulting in two arrests.
