The Government of Spain in Cartagena invests 60 million euros through State Funds for 109 projects that create 1,800 jobs
The government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, and the Mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, this morning visited the works being carried out at the windlass, funded by the Plan E Government of Spain and managed by this council.
The project has a budget of 4 million euros and is expected that during the development of the works generated 66 jobs.
González Tovar explained that the project aims at creating a terraced park in the area's highest hill, in accordance with the findings of archaeological excavations of the first settlers of the city and a Roman temple.
The performance area is flanked to the west by the remains of the wall of the Dean and Felipe V, the sixteenth century, and east by the archaeological remains.
He also explained that the winch park will, when completed works, in addition to the archaeological zone, three thousand square meters, a promenade area with street furniture, gardens, and new pavement.
The delegate noted that the Government of Spain has 109 projects funded entirely with state funds under the 2009 and 2010 amounting to EUR 60 million and create about 1,800 direct jobs.
Of these, 6 are used to finance social spending programs to municipal jurisdiction for an amount of 4.5 million euros and will benefit over 77,000 Cartagena and Cartagena.
